Jeremy Daiki Sensei, a Salt Lake City native, discovered his passion for religion and spirituality early, immersing himself in religious studies as a teenager. In 1999, an internship at the Kanzeon Zen Center introduced him to Zen Master Genpo Merzel Roshi, leading to his involvement in the transformative Zen Dialogue retreat, where the Big Mind process was conceived.

Deepening his Zen practice, he received Jukai in 2000, Shukke Tokudo in 2008, and Shiho in 2023. A full-time community college professor in Colorado, he holds graduate degrees in both Counseling Psychology and Religious Studies. His teaching integrates traditional Zen with modern psychology and the Big Mind process, emphasizing meditation, koan study, and deep spiritual insight. This integrative style provides students with a robust framework to explore and awaken to The Forever Unnamable It.
